A slow PC does not automatically need a registry cleaner or “PC booster”. Start with changes you can understand and reverse.
1. Restart and update
Restart the computer fully, then install pending Windows and driver updates from trusted sources.
2. Check startup apps
Open Task Manager and disable non-essential apps that launch automatically. Do not disable security or hardware-management components unless you know what they do.
3. Free storage safely
Use Windows Storage settings and review large personal files before deleting anything. Keep enough free disk space for updates and temporary files.
4. Look at Task Manager
If CPU, memory or disk usage remains near 100%, identify which process is responsible before changing settings.
5. Know when hardware is the limit
Older systems with very little memory or slow storage may benefit more from a hardware upgrade than repeated software tweaks.
